13 February 2015: Philip Schulz, Rimona Afana and Stephanie Chaban (pictured) are awarded three of the four SLSA PhD Fieldwork prizes.  The funding will support their ongoing PhD projects.
26 January 2015: Just published - Inquiries Observation Report July 2014 -

The Committee on the Administration of Justice, Rights Watch (UK) and the Transitional Justice Institute have jointly published a report of their Inquiries Observation Project which we hope will inform current debates about best practice in the truth recovery process after conflict.

8 January 2015: Call for Applications - PhD studentships at the Transitional Justice Institute. Deadline for applications: 27 February 2015.

 

18 December 2014: An outstanding result for Law at Ulster University! Ranked 4th for overall research and 1st for our research impact - the only Law unit in the UK to be awarded 100% 4* rating for impact.

5 December 2014: Siobhan Curran wins the 2014 Best LLM Dissertation Prize sponsored by the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission for her dissertation on 'Intersectionality and Human Rights Law: An Examination of the Coercive Sterilisations of Romani Women.' Congratulations Siobhan!
2 December 2014: Call for Papers and Posters for Postgraduate Symposium on 'Occupation, Transitional Justice and Gender' taking play on Friday 8 May 2015 at Ulster University, Belfast campus, Northern Ireland.  The Symposium is is being organised by Ulster University's Transitional Justice Institute and Institute for Research in Social Sciences.  It is sponsored by Feminist and Women's Studies Association (FWSA).
24 November 2014:  Speeches and presentations from the conference on 'Transitional Justice in the Context of European Convention Obligations: The Right to Life and Dealing with the Past' are now available online.
23 October 2014: The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muiznieks, will give the keynote address at our conference on 'Transitional Justice in the Context of European Convention Obligations: The Right to Life and Dealing with the Past' on Thursday 6 November 2014 in the Ulster Hall Belfast.  Limited spaces available.  Full programme and some speeches are available here.
14 October 2014:  Paul Seils, Vice President of the International Center for Transitional Justice, will give the keynote address at a forthcoming conference co-hosted by the TJI and Christian Aid Ireland on 'Civil Society, Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding' on Monday 3 November 2014, University of Ulster, Jordanstown campus.  Full programme.
6 October 2014: Amy Wagner wins the Transitional Justice Scholarship to undertake the LLM Human Rights Law and Transitional Justice programme this year.  Welcome Amy!
